Well Walter, you said you'd love for them to go after Clements and they did, and signed him to one hell of a big contract. 80 mill, 22 guaranteed! I'm glad to see the 49ers actually spending money this year!
They needed CB help big time, and they got it. Clements is one of the top Cbs in the league all around. When I saw the deal I was shocked, but in reality it is a 6 year 43 million dollar deal, a good chunk of his money comes in the last two years of the contract and they could cut him or restructure it. They also signed S Micheal Lewis from the eagles.
I think the 49ers overpaid, but they had the money to spend, and they needed to show the league they're ready to become a serious franchise again. Good for them.
