They will definitely be worse unless Jonathan Quinn or Craig Kenzel is the next Tom Brady. The Bears were playing well under Grossman. They won at Lambeau Field and nearly stole another victory at the Metrodome. I didn't like Grossman coming out of college but he has played well.
Here's something interesting: on Sunday, Oct. 31, the Bears play the 49ers on Sunday Night football. What if Quinn gets injured, or struggles? Craig Krenzel will step in. His opponent? Ken Dorsey. It will be a quarterbacking rematch of the NCAA Championship between Miami and Ohio State.
That is interesting, but the game would be ugly. Two terrible teams playing each other.... eeeee. Lovie Smith is such a better coach then Dennis Erickson I cant even compare the two, soI would give the Bears the edge. Even though it is in Frisco..... I think.
I would actually give the 49ers the edge because they play well at home and can actually stop the run (3.1 yards per carry allowed). Chicago can't do that.
Yeah, but lets see if Erickson is smart enough to put them in a defensive package that is made for the run like a blitz, or nickel and not prevent or pass defense on every play. Its like Mike Martz if something is "too obvious" that it would work they think "well theyre expecting that" yes they are expecting that, but they cant do anything about it, their QB sucks so they cant pass they have to run.
I can see Chicago scoring in double digits against the 49ers but it will be real ugly 12-3 or something but there wont be any Touchdowns. 19-9 I think that is pretty good for a team that is playing possibly the best in the NFL, while you are rebuilding. I thought they Quinn did pretty good for his first NFL start.
