Wes Welker (from Texas Tech) returned a kickoff for a TD.
The Dolphins were in Brady's face all night
Brady threw a few bad passes-2 of which were picked off.
A.J. Feeley looked like a two-time Super Bowl MVP. All of his throws were accurate and he made great decisions. Looks like the Fins may not need to draft Aaron Rodgers or Matt Leinart.
Wow. Is'nt it weird how that can happen. This year's Patriots talent wise are better than last year's Patriots. And last year's Patriots beat the Miami Dolphins. Last years Dolphins were WAY better off talent wise than this year and this year the Dolphins won. I wonder if Brady freezes when he plays the Dolphins like Steve Young froze when he played the Cowboys.
Brady has always had trouble against the Dolphins, especially in Miami. I have film of his games at Miami the last three seasons and he just isn't himself.
I think he just doesnt do very well in hot games. Im not saying warm weather games, because in summer it gets warm in Boston, but in hot places like Miami, I think that is why he does so terrible.
That could be a reason he played poorly against the Dolphins in the past. Lots of players play poorly in hot and humid games. However, it was only 54 degrees last Monday night in Miami.
Yeah it is weird. He doesnt have the mental block like Steve Young not beating Dallas, and what might be Peyton Manning not beating the Patriots though. If he had that block he wouldnt have been able to beat them last year.
I always have believed that you can tell which team will win the Super Bowl when they overcome something they usually cannot do. In 2003, the Pats won at Miami. In 2002, the Buccaneers won in the cold.
Wow. If that statistic proves to be true, the Chargers will win the Super Bowl. Their feat was winning at Kansas City. Wouldnt that be interesting if they did? A 4-12 team stands still in the offseason, and wins the Super Bowl the following year that would be amazing.
It would be incredible and I wouldn't mind seeing it. Keep in mind that they lost by 10 at Denver though. They never win there.
It'll be interesting to see how they handle the Drew Brees/Phillip Rivers situation. If you think about it, they could have spent that pick on Robert Gallery or a WR like Roy Williams or Larry Fitzgerald.
I would not take on Sapp's attitude and salary. I think he's over the hill and overrated.
Trading Rivers would be tough because of his signing bonus and salary. If the Chargers trade him, it could be after the 2005 season when the cap hit is significantly lower.
Still though, if you take the cap and penalties out of the mix, Rivers is worth much more than Washington and Sapp. I like Washington, but the Chargers already have Jammal Williams, an excellent run stuffing NT. If I could, I'd trade Rivers for an All-Pro OT like Orlando Pace or Walter Jones.
I don't think Sapp is helping anyone on defense. Where would he play? He doesn't fit the 3-4 mold, which is why he is struggle-ing in Oakland. I think Sapp would make their defense worse, honestly.
Plus, trading big-salary for big-salary is a death wish on your salary cap. You'd be paying off Rivers' bonus and Sapp's current salary at the same time.
