How the Eagles will win the Superbowl
Permalink

here are the events that will occur:
1) the patriots team bus explodes, killing all players and coaches
2) the steelers are not allowed to take their place
3) the patriots are replaced by the world series champion boston red sox

ok, so this was all an elaborate excuse to think about michael lewis hitting pedro martinez. still, i think this is plausible. discuss.

Sorry but no way in hell, Fricko.

I think Fricko was just kidding, and I agree with him. Barring an injury to Tom Brady, the Patriots will not lose the Super Bowl.

I realize that Fricko was kidding, Walt. What are you some kind of a moron (Im just kidding).

Even without Brady, Bill Belichick would find a way to win.

Eh... I think Brady is the only player on the Patriots who cannot be replaced. Think about it. Prior to Brady, the Patriots were terrible, even with Bill Belichick as coach. In the first year they won the Super Bowl, the Pats started out 0-2 when Bledsoe was the QB. Coincidently, they started winning when Brady stepped in. Rohan Davey cannot win a Super Bowl.

I dont think so. With that defense. They would still hold the Eagles to only like 14 points, if Rohan Davey could surpass that, the Pats still win.

How would the Pats score with Rohan Davey at QB? He would succumb to the Eagles pressure and turn the ball over. If New England had a reliable veteran backup QB (i.e. Tommy Maddox, Jeff Blake), I could see it. But not Davey... The Eagles would kill the Pats if Davey was their QB.

Dont forget that New England's Defense will probably score about 3 touchdowns on their own.

I take back what I said. The Eagles played much better than I expected and the Pats could not have won w/o Brady. They would have definitely lost with Rohan Davey.

What do you mean you take back what you said, that is the exact same thing you said earlier.

I meant to say the Patriots could not win with a veteran QB like Tommy Maddox or Kurt Warner. Tom Brady wasn't spectacular, but he was great. I don't think you can take Brady out of that lineup and witness the same result.

I think Tedy Bruschi, Rodney Bruschi, Troy Brown, Deion Branch, and Mike Vrabel would have been enough to beat the Eagles.

It was 24-21. Someone needed to complete those key third downs against the Eagles' tough defense. That one key catch Deion Branch made was right on the money. Are you saying Rohan Davey or even Kurt Warner could have delivered the ball with such accuracy?

Patriots would have found a way to win like they always do. I heard that one of their players was a QB in High School, Belichick probably would have put him in, plus Dillon and Faulk could have carried the team on their legs. The final score is a little decieving the Patriots got that meaningless TD at the end of the game, it wouldnt have been meaningless if they handled the clock better, but still it was meaningless take that away it was a 2 score game.

I think they find some way to win because of Brady. He led the two Super Bowl drives. He led the comeback against Oakland in the Tuck Rule Game. Before Brady, the Patriots were crap, even with the same defensive players. Drew Bledsoe was 0-2 in 2001. The Pats were blown out by Cincinnati. You cannot take Brady away from this team and expect them to win.

Yeah crap. All they did was make the Super Bowl.

They made the Super Bowl with Brady. They were 0-2 with Bledsoe. They lost 23-17 to the Bengals and 10-3 to the Jets.

1996! Who led the team that season, Brady wasnt even at Michigan yet!

And what has Bledsoe done since 1996? Absolutely nothing. All he does is get sacked and throw interceptions. He couldn't even beat the third-string Steelers with the playoffs on the line. He is a pocket statue and crumbles easily.

We are not talking about what Bledsoe has done since 1996. You said the Patriots won only because of Brady. I said what about when they made the Super Bowl in 1996 with Bledsoe.

No, not only because of Brady. I never said that; you're putting words in my mouth. I said the Patriots wouldn't have won if Brady didn't play. Would they have won if Corey Dillon and say, Rodney Harrison were out? Probably not. However, you cannot say they would have won if Rohan Davey or Jim Miller quarterbacked them in the Super Bowl.

I think they would have.

How can you say they would have won the Super Bowl with Rohan Davey, if the Patriots barely beat the Eagles as it is? The Eagles would have won 21-10 or something. There's a reason Brady is undefeated in playoff games and overtimes. This is like saying you could take Troy Aikman off of those Cowboys championship teams and replace him with Jason Garrett and still win.

Patriots won by 10 points in reality and it could have been more. Patriots still would have won.

No, absolutely not. The Patriots would have been blown out with Rohan Davey. Or Drew Bledsoe. C'mon, you cannot honestly say that Brady can be replaced by terrible QBs like Davey or Bledsoe and they'd still win the Super Bowl. They wouldn't have even made the playoffs.

Terrible Drew Bledsoe! You even admitted on your website "Say goodbye to the playoffs for Buffalo, they released Drew Bledsoe. If Drew Bledsoe is so terrible why would you write that. He has never been kicked out of a place and it was his fault. New England got Tom Brady who is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time (Although I still think they could have won without him), and you even admit Buffalo made a stupid decision in going with unproven JP Losman. Drew Bledsoe is at least in the top 12 quarterbacks in the league.

Bledsoe is terrible. Buffalo says good-bye to the playoffs. Make sense?

Well, only when you take into account that J.P. Losman is both raw and awful. I didn't like him coming out of Tulane and as bad as Bledsoe is, Losman will be far worse.

If Bledsoe is such a terrible quarterback you wouldnt pick the Bills to have a winning season every year like you have lately. The way youve talked about Bledsoe you act like anything would be an improvement.

I think Bledsoe is the only reason they didn't make the playoffs last year. Think about it: they have the running back, receivers (Moulds and Evans), the offensive line and the defense. Bledsoe was holding Buffalo back--and he will hold Dallas back.

The Offensive Line! Buffalo's Offensive Line is one of the league's worst! You keep saying we have one of the league's worst. We kept teams from sacking Vinny who is even more of a statue that Bledsoe is! Buffalo's Offensive Line is what held them back.
