North Carolina is alot better in my opinion, UConn may be better, Kansas and Oklahoma State might even be better, Duke might even be better. They plastered Wake so I cant say that they are better than Illinois but I dont think that Illinois can hang with the Big East, Big 12, and ACC.
While I agree the ACC, Big XII and Big East are far superior to the Big Ten, I think Illinois is an exception and could easily beat any team in the nation right now. North Carolina plays no D, OKState lost to Texas at home today, Duke has no depth... I like UConn and Kansas, but I think the Illini would beat them both on a neutral court.
Ohio State! Who would have ever guessed Ohio State! I watched the first half of the first half of that game and saw Ohio State get several oppurtunities to take the lead but kept shooting too many threes and Illinois started to pull away and then I had to go to lunch with some people so I missed the rest of the game, did you watch it I cant believe I missed it! So Illinois broke Wisconsin's unbelievable home winning streak and loses at crappy Ohio State. This is unbelievable. Then Kansas, Oklahoma State and Kentucky lose in their final games, Im watching Duke/UNC right now and UNC is trailing. This is amazing. Im glad Im not on the selection committee and have to choose who the number one seeds are.
What I watched was the exact opposite of what you watched. I only saw the second half because I thought this game was on at 1. I'm currently assigned a column for the Centre Daily Times and I think I'm going to write about how Illinois can win the national title now that the loss is out of their system. I think they were arrogant about being undefeated and this win can be a wakeup call for them that they aren't invincible.
My number one seeds are: Illinois, UNC, Duke and Wake Forest. I'd consider Kentucky and Connecticut (if they win the Big East Tourney).
