For the first time since our aquistion of Drew Bledsoe, I checked out www.dallascowboys.com and saw that we have aquired three outstanding players in the positions we needed help. Marco Rivera, Guard- 3 time pro bowler. How do you like our O-Line now. Anthony Henry, Cornerback- 17 ints the past 4 years, I think that is an update to last year. Jason Ferguson, Defensive Tackle- 6 forced fumbles, 21 sacks over 8 year career. The least impressive pick up in my oppinion but he has been one of the best players on the Jets defense for along time.
Now I have us winning the NFC East and losing in the NFC Championship to the Vikings who keep improving and improving this offseason.
Henry was a good signing--his INT totals make him a bit overrated. He's all or nothing.
Bledsoe? Bledsoe? No. I can't see Bledsoe winning a playoff game. The Cowboys may get there, but I don't see it. I think the Giants are also improved and should be considered to win the NFC East.
Some more news from Dallas. We are attemting to trade Dat Nguyen to New Orleans for Darren Howard. If we pull off this trade we will considerably improve because Parcells has hinted he was going to release Nguyen anyway. So we will be getting Darren Howard who had 11 sacks last year for free. I smell another #1 defense coming up. So far we have checked off several needs. These are the only other needs I see us having.
I don't think any QB in the NFL can consisently hold on to the ball for seven seconds and get away with it. That's an eternity. But, you're right about Parcells. Bledsoe played well under him in New England. I still don't trust Bledsoe, but if he does succeed, it will be because of the Tuna.
