Another good predicted division. I have Minny going high, Chicago and Detroit as wildcard contenders, and I have the Packers taking a big fall. Good predictions
It's really a toss-up between Detroit and Chicago. Who do you give the edge to? I'd say the Lions because their quarterbacks have more experience. Then again, Chicago's defense is better.
I put Detroit. The Lions defense really isent all that bad. Bly and Bryant were gone all last year, and there D-Line is pretty good. They have Earl Holmes at linebacker who I feel is underated. They have a solid D when healthy, and they werent last year. The Lions quarter back will have to be good if Rodgers is healthy, and now Mike Williams is present. I think Roy Williams is a top 10 WR, and he is the best on the team. Kevin Jones emerged last year, and he will be a solidd running back this year. Even if Harrrington falls, Garcia will com in and benefit from Mariucci's system. Look at what Garcia had in Cleveland, thats why he didnt do good. He just needs a good WR(ask T.O), and there is 3 in Detroit.
Detroit at 9-7 just missing the wildcard is my prediction, and Chicago taking a jump to 8-8.
I agree that Detroit has a good defense. I was saying that the Bears have a better defense than the Lions. I'm really curious to see Rex Grossman. I watched some film of him. He was terrible in Week 1 against the Lions, but he looked pretty solid against the Packers and Vikings in weeks 2 and 3. It's a shame he got hurt.
It's really hard to predict the Lions and Bears though. They always every year seem to be a 6-7 win team. I hope both teams pull through though, I like Smith and Mariucci.
On another topic, who would you say your favorite QB, RB, WR, coach is outside of your team?
Outside of then Seahawks, I would have to say.....
You're right, the Bears and Lions always seem to disappoint, but I like their coaches. Smith and Mariucci will turn things around.
QB: Jon Kitna. Easily my favorite player in the NFL. Here are some of the things he has said in press conferences:
"You know, sometimes it's embarrassing to tell people that I'm the quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals."
"They shouldn't start me. They should start [Akili Smith]. Let the young kid play and get experience."
I also like the way he is mentoring Carson Palmer. I think Kitna will make a great quarterbacks coach or offensive coordinator some day.
RB: LaDainian Tomlinson. I like how he said his goal was to break Emmitt Smith's record.
WR: Hines Ward. People call him dirty. I call him a hard worker. If I was a general manager of an NFL team, I'd like to have Ward.
Coach: Bill Belichick. He does everything the right way. I'd also like to give an honorable mention to Herman Edwards. His teams always overachieve because he knows how to motivate.
I like Dellhomme because he's cocky, has a sense of humor, and is not bothered by what people say to him. My favorite picture of him is when he threw that big TD in the superbowl to Muhammed, and he's pointing at the patriots players and showing them that they just scoreda TD. It shows he's not scared of anyone.
I like how McGahee showed up all the experts and came to Buffalo to show everyone up. Last year he showed he was for real, and thats why he's one of my favorites. Martin is so consistent, and when everyone says he's finished, he's just does it over and over.
I like Horn for different reasons. I always pick him on my fantasy leauge and he always puts up good numbers. I have his jersey. I like Rod Smith because he's one of the most underated WR's in the NFL. He mat be old, but he's a great target in Denver.
Lastly, I like Mariucci because he acts like he is one of the players. Everyone on the Lions is like a best friend to him. He is truely a great coach. Herm Edwards is a close 2nd, he's just like Mariucci. "you play to win the game".
Jon Kitna-A former seahawk. I like him also....lol. He took us to a playoff game in 99.
I remember that Delhomme to Muhammad touchdown. You'd have to say that out of all the quarterbacks that have faced the Patriots in the playoffs, Delhomme showed the most guts.
You're right about Willis McGahee. His comeback is incredible.
That was actually one of the better Super Bowls in recent history. My friend actually called the Kasay kick. After the Panthers scored, he said, "I bet you Kasay either kicks it out of bounds or the Patriots return it to the 50." I'm glad I didn't take that bet.
Samething happened to me. I bet that the titans were going to return the kick in the music city miracle. My brother i a big bills fan and he said i was crazy....lol
