I agree with everything except for one thing: You think the Saints are going to sweep the Panthers? That's pretty interesting -- what makes you think that?
This is why I think that the Saints will sweep the Panthers- In Week 4, New Orleans plays their first game against Carolina at Carolina. I think that the Panthers will be 2-1 and coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Bucs in Tampa Bay, so they will be down in the dumps a little bit. I think that the Saints are 1-2 and coming off a mugging on Monday Night Football at home against the Atlanta Falcons in their first New Orleans home game in over a year. New Orleans will be angry, Carolina will be non-chalant and depressed. Add those two factors along with the odd way the Saints seem to always win in Carolina (they have won 5 of the last 6 Saints/Panthers contests in Carolina) and I think it adds up to a Saints victory in Charlotte that puts both teams at 2-2. Okay, now to the second game.
The second Saints/Panthers game is in the final week and its in New Orleans. New Orleans is 6-9 and coming off 3 consecutive losses to the Cowboys, Redskins, and Giants that has knocked them out of the playoff picture while Carolina is 11-4 (I've given them one less win after looking at their schedule) and needs a win and a Dallas loss to improve their situation because they have already clinched the NFC South and at least the third seed. I think that Dallas dominates Detroit in Week 17 and after looking at the scoreboard, Carolina doesnt even care about the game anymore and they lose to the Saints again. Although this seems unimportant at the time, I think a Saints sweep of Carolina this season would springboard them to the NFC South Division Title in 2007.
I think if the Panthers lose to the Buccaneers, they'll have to win the Saints game because they cannot suffer two consecutive divisional losses. I actually have Carolina winning that game.
That said, I'm predicting a 23-20 win over New Orleans. It could go either way though.
