The Steelers are without Ben Roethlisberger and they are going to suffer for it. Pittsburgh will have difficulty scoring on Miami's tough defense without Big Ben and without the running back who was their inspirational leader last season. Pittsburgh will keep it close, but their offense just doesn't have enough power without Roethlisberger. Dolphins 10, Steelers 7
Sunday
Atlanta @ Carolina
After retaining dominance over the Panthers for several seasons, Mike Vick lost that dominance in 2005, being swept by Carolina. I look for more of the same this year as Vick's struggles within the West Coast Offense continue. Panthers 27, Falcons 7
New Orleans @ Cleveland
I've flip-flopped on this game for a long time now but Im going to go with the Browns after all. New Orleans looked terrible in the pre season and they will likely struggle early on. Browns 24, Saints 17
Seattle @ Detroit
The Seahawks are going to blow this game open. Marinelli wants to set a precedent in Detroit, but the Seahawks are just a whole lot more talented than they are, plus they want to prove that they aren't like the other Super Bowl losers of recent history. Seahawks 38, Lions 10
Philadelphia @ Houston
Philly is going to tear Houston apart. The Eagles want to prove that 2005 was a fluke and they take on the worst team in the league. This one is sure to get ugly. Eagles 48, Texans 14
Cincinnati @ Kansas City
Until I saw how good Carson Palmer already looks, I had the Chiefs winning this game, now I favor the Bengals. Kansas City's offensive line will struggle without Willie Roaf and Cincinnati's offense is going to flourish under what appears to be a totally healed Carson Palmer. Bengals claim a big win in Week One. Bengals 31, Chiefs 17
Buffalo @ New England
This game will be closer on the scoreboard than it will be on the field. Mythotical dominance for the Patriots as always. Patriots 33, Bills 19
Denver @ St. Louis
The Rams are going to be competitive this season but they will probably get off to a slow start under new coach Scott Linehan's system. Broncos 27, Rams 23
Baltimore @ Tampa Bay
The Bucs and Ravens will actually play a pretty close one on Sunday but in the end, the better team will win, and the better team is Tampa Bay. Buccaneers 17, Ravens 14
NY Jets @ Tennessee
The Titans have absolutely no idea what they are doing, neither do the Jets for that matter, but the Jets are the more talented team so I think that they will win. If Tennessee was to start Vince Young over Kerry Collins then I would reconsider my position but right now I'll take the Jets. Jets 16, Titans 7
San Francisco @ Arizona
Mike Nolan will have his team fired up for this game and it will be closer than most people think, but Arizona pulls away in the end. Cardinals 34, 49ers 24
Chicago @ Green Bay
'Da Bears will put a whipping on one of the worst teams in football in Week One. Brett Favre should have retired. Bears 27, Packers 0
Dallas @ Jacksonville
Jacksonville really just wont be able to compete with our athletes. Our quick and strong defense will overwhelm their overmatched offense and our powerful offense will not have much trouble against their defense. We make a statement in Week 1. Cowboys 34, Jaguars 10
Indianapolis @ NY Giants
This game will inevitably be a shoot-out and the Colts have more firepower. The Giants will play the Colts close all day long but Indy wins on a Vinatieri field goal with 3 seconds left. Colts 37, Giants 34
Minnesota @ Washington
Washington has looked terrible in the preseason but I cant see them losing to Minny at home. Redskins 16, Vikings 10
San Diego @ Oakland
In the first road contest of his career, Phillip Rivers is bound to struggle. Luckily for the Chargers, their opponents are the lowely Raiders. Points will be scarce in this one as well but the Chargers score just enough to win. Chargers 17, Raiders 14
