This Walter guy doesn't hate the Colts.

They just choke every year in the playoffs. What can I say?

They have no shot to win the Super Bowl.

I would love to see Tony Dungy and Peyton Manning win the Super Bowl but like Walt says, it's not going to happen. If they couldn't win with the team they had last year then they're not going to win.

Right, and now they don't even have a running game. No shot.

I think Indy wins the division with a 13-3 record and the Jags finish 12-4 again and the 5th seed again. In the Divisional Playoffs I have them meeting and the Jaguars upsetting the Colts in Indy.

I can definitely see that happening, although I'd bump the Jaguars down to about 11-5 or so. Not 12-4.

Just somewhere around there. But anyway, Jags the fifth seed and between the Ravens and Bengals whichever doesn't win the division gets the sixth seed.

What about the loser of the Broncos/Chargers?

I think San Diego wins the division and Denver just misses out.

That's tough because the Broncos are 4-1, and they have already beaten Baltimore. I think both San Diego and Denver will make it. The other wild card could be Jacksonville, or Pittsburgh if they get on a roll.

So who do you think misses out, Baltimore or Cincinnati?

The Ravens. Steve McNair will suffer more injuries before this year is over. And McNair's not playing that well anyway.

You might be right.

Even though they lost to Kansas City, I still have San Diego in that division. It's not like Denver's going to win in KC either.

Yeah, they won't.

Do you think the Broncos need to make the switch to Jay Cutler now before it's too late?

The Broncos never win at KC. Yeah they should give Cutler a shot in the regular season.

I had the Chiefs winning the AFC West title in my pre-season predictions. I have SD winning it now. Speaking of the Chargers, Shawne Merriman's attorney said the Chargers' outside linebacker failed a drug test because of a tainted supplement and will continue to play while appealing his four-game suspension.

The Chiefs are going to be a factor in it and I wouldn't count them out yet but I think Chargers 1st, Broncos 2nd, Chiefs 3rd.

Yeah, put Cutler in. They did it against Cleveland but like I said, they can't keep scoring 10-17 points and winning.

It looks like Merriman will play the next two weeks.

Joey, I agree with that order in the AFC West. The Chiefs will hang around, but they don't have much of a chance.

I've changed my oppinion of Denver now though. They'll be in the playoffs, probably as the 5th seed.

Well, here's whom they play the remainder of the season:

vs. Indy (tough game)
at Pittsburgh (Heinz Field is a tough place to play)
at Oakland (easy win)
vs. San Diego (difficult)
at Kansas City (loss)
vs. Seattle (Hasselbeck and Alexander should be back)
at San Diego (loss)
at Arizona (win)
vs. Cincy (tough)
vs. 49ers (win)

That's a pretty tough schedule.

I agree with your results, only I'd change the Colts game to a Win, and the Seahawks game to a Loss. So, 11-5 for both of us.

Do you still think that Denver will lose to Seattle? I stand by what I said earlier, the Seahawks are not going to make the playoffs this season.

Yeah. By then, Matt Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander will be back in the lineup. They'll make a playoff run.

Are you forgetting about the Super Bowl Loser's Curse?

Bill Simmons of ESPN brought up a good point. He said: "What if the officials ruined the outcome of the Super Bowl, and the Seahawks were supposed to win instead of the Steelers? That would mean the Steelers are the ones who are affected by the Super Bowl Loser Curse."

Intriguing stuff.

Thats pretty funny.

We'll just have to wait and see on the Seahawks. I dont think that they're a very mentally tough team and they've been plagued by injuries like other Super Bowl losing teams of the past.

So have the Steelers (Roethlisberger, Joey Porter, Hines Ward, Alan Faneca).

I just wouldn't give up on the Seahawks, given that their division stinks.

What do you think about this proposition:

bodog is offering 100:1 odds that the 49ers win the NFC West. Is there a chance they get it done? They're only 2 behind the Rams and Seahawks. Seattle is banged up, and they've already beat St. Louis.

It's basically $5 to win $500, or $10 to win $1,000 if it comes to fruition. What do you think?

I'd go for it, it probably won't happen but I think that there's a good enough chance of it happening that I'd give up some money with the chance of getting 100x more if it comes true. The Rams really haven't beaten anybody good and the Seahawks are cursed, jinxed, injured, phsycologically weak etc. I'd take it.

I might do it. I still have until Sunday morning to decide.

If you don't mind my asking, how much dough do you think you're going to place on it? I think those odds are worth about $40 or $50.
