FIU started it but c'mon Miami, are they really worth your time? Did any of you hear the Miami announcer's thoughts on the fight? It was dispicable.

That was Lamar Thomas.

I couldn't believe that stuff he said. He was advocating what could have been called a criminal act.

It's a good thing he was fired. I don't understand where some of the stuff he said came from.

I'm not sure who started the fight, but it's no excuse for anyone to hit someone else with his helmet.

I wonder what's with all the gruesome violence in sports lately. First that hockey thing a couple years ago, then the brawl in Detroit, then all the football brawls in the last couple years. Its really getting out of hand.

There has always been violence in sports, but you're right about it escalating. Still, it's nothing compared to what happens in European soccer matches. Remember one of the fans threw a flare at a goalie?

I think Roger Goodell could have taken a major step away from the violence had he suspended Haynesworth for the rest of the season and made an example out of him. I still dont understand why he made the suspension just 4 games. Thats ridiculous.

Definitely. What Haynesworth did was terrible -- a lot worse than taking steroids or smoking weed. He almost killed another man!

Yeah he really got off easy. Gurode's a better man than me, I think I would press charges if someone did something that bad to me.

I don't know what I would have done if I were Gurdoe... Haynesworth's apology was genuine, and it's not like Gurode needs the money.

Yeah, but I mean I think I would press criminal charges if I were him. If someone tried to kill me then I would think that they would deserve to be in prison.

Yeah, you're right. I would consider doing the same thing.

I think the Players Association must have discouraged Gurode from doing that or something. I can't imagine not taking action if someone did that to me.
