Why did you pick cleveland to beat the jets

I think the Jets are the better team. They SHOULD win.

However, there is too much public money on the Jets, and Vegas rarely loses a high-volume game (every NFL game is high-volume).

Also, why are the Browns favored? The Jets should be a three-point favorite. The public is seeing this and betting the hell out of New York. A lot of people are going to get burnt.

I hate to say that any NFL game is fixed (my dad says this all the time), but if any game were to be fixed this week, it's the Browns-Jets.

I'm not saying it'll be fixed, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was.

I guess we'll see what happens.

I think the opposite. The Jets are going to be angry that after their great start they're underdogs to Cleveland. New York wins. Im never picking the Browns again.

We'll have to see. But if the Jets win (or lose by 1), Vegas will lose a lot of money. That doesn't happen that often.

Something awfully fishy went on in Cleveland. First the Browns were mysteriously the favorites against the Jets and then that horrible call that went against the Jets that could have tied the game. Like you Walt, I've never been one for conspiracy theories but that was really strange.

I've mentioned this on my site befoe. Jim Rome once interviewed an former mobster on his show, and that guy said that there are a few fixed games in the NFL every year (and many more in college football). I didn't believe him until I saw the Titans mysteriously hang with Indianapolis. That was evident in the Jets-Browns matchup, especially when the referee made that bogus call at the end.

What causes it? Do some gamblers pay off the refs or something?

Well, if he's right about a few games being fixed, it won't be any gamblers. It would either be the mob or powerful people in Vegas.

That's kind of hard for me to believe but like you, I think it seems like something fishy's going on.

How's this for fixed? Check out my Boise State-Fresno State pick this week.

Basically the Bulldogs stand to make a lot of money if Boise State goes to a BCS Bowl. Think they didn't try to win on purpose?

That does seem kind of fishy although I dont think Fresno State would have beaten Boise State anyway had they tried their very hardest.

I would agree with that. All of the other WAC schools stand to make money if Boise St. goes to a BCS game. Let's see what happens in the final three games of the regular season.
