NFL Pick-'em: Week 9
Permalink

Atlanta @ Detroit

The Lions will be looking for revenge after that horrible Thanksgiving effort last year but they'll do like they've done in most every other game this year. Lose it in the end after keeping it close. Falcons 27, Lions 24

Miami @ Chicago

In 1985 when the Bears appeared to be on their way to an undefeated season the Dolphins ended their roll, they wont have so much luck this time. The game's in Chicago and this Miami team is not going anywhere close to the AFC Championship Game like the 85 version of Miami did. Bears win big. Bears 27, Dolphins 3

Green Bay @ Buffalo

Green Bay has followed an easy trend to pick by this season- they beat the bad teams and lose to the good teams. That trend will continue here. Packers 27, Bills 24

Cincinnati @ Baltimore

This is a huge game. If the Bengals win, they tie Baltimore for the division lead and win the tiebreaker because of beating the Ravens. If Baltimore wins, they take a commanding lead over Cincinnati. This is a good spot to pick the Bengals but they haven't proven to me that they are a good team yet. The Ravens did with their win in New Orleans last week. Baltimore wins. Ravens 34, Bengals 24

Dallas @ Washington

The Redskins have to win this game or else they have absolutely no shot at the playoffs at all. This is their Super Bowl. However, we are on a roll now and are the far superior team. The Redskins keep it close but lose it in the end. Cowboys 30, Redskins 23

New Orleans @ Tampa Bay

Like I said in my Power Rankings, the Saints will always be the Saints and after starting so well this season they've finally turned incosistent once again like they always do. Here a hungry Bucs team beats them as well. Buccaneers 27, Saints 17

Kansas City @ St. Louis

This battle of Missouri could decide who goes to the playoffs out of the state and it should be a shoot-out between these two potent offenses. The Chiefs beat the Seahawks last week, but here they fail to complete the AFC West sweep. Rams 45, Chiefs 28

Houston @ NY Giants

The Texans look like an actual NFL team now but they dont have much of a chance against a great Giants team. Giants 27, Texans 7

Tennessee @ Jacksonville

The way the Titans have played since their blowout loss to us and with how inconsistent the Jaguars have played this season Im tempted to pick the upset but Ill go with the Jags in a surprisingly close one. Jaguars 20, Titans 17

Minnesota @ San Francisco

The Vikings usually have problems playing outdoors and for the 49ers there's a big difference between 2-6 and 3-5. I don't think the Vikings are that great of a team and the 49ers will want it more. 49ers 27, Vikings 20

Cleveland @ San Diego

Easy pick. The Browns beat the Jets last week but the Chargers are a much better team and they're at home. Blowout. Chargers 30, Browns 10

Denver @ Pittsburgh

It's a rematch of last year's AFC Championship Game only the Broncos are still good while the Steelers have turned bad. I've heard that Cowher's starting Roethlisberger this week so Pittsburgh has no chance. Broncos 34, Steelers 20

Indianapolis @ New England

This is a tough one to pick considering how Indianapolis just finds a way to win but I think Tom Brady's been waiting for this one since last year's loss. The Brady bunch wins a great game. Patriots 33, Colts 31

Oakland @ Seattle

I don't know how the Raiders have done it but they've somehow managed to win two straight games. They wont make it 3 straight. Seahawks win huge. Seahawks 35, Raiders 3

I like your 49ers upset. That's my favorite pick of the week.

There are a lot of huge home favorites this week -- Chargers, Giants, Bears, Seahawks, Jaguars. I think one of them could lose. Whom do you think that will be?

I say either the Chargers or Giants.

I think the Chargers, Giants and Bears have absolutely no shot of losing this week against the horrible teams they face.

I picked the Seahawks to win big this week but you never know with them. Oakland has been really bad for the most part of this season but they're starting to get their confidence back and they've never been bad because of lack of talent it's been lack of mentality. If the Raiders play their game and the Seahawks come out sluggish that could be one.

I think the Jaguars are in danger this week. Tennessee's playing excellent ball and simply, the Jaguars haven't. I think Tennessee has a really good shot at winning in Jacksonville.

Any given Sunday... remember that.

The Titans have looked like they've played well, but look whom they've beaten:

Houston -- garbage

Washington -- garbage

Indianapolis was close, but the Colts looked uninterested.

Before that, they were clobbered by Dallas.

And by the way, HOU, WAS and IND can't stop the run. Jacksonville can. The Jaguars can force Vince Young to throw the ball. The Texans, Redskins and Colts (all ranked 20th or worse against the run) couldn't do that.

Do the Jaguars really want to let Vince Young have the chance to beat them? I've only seen 3 Titans games this year but Young's started all 3 and he looked great in 2 of them with the only bad performance being the one against us and even that one wasn't really horrible it just wasn't good. I think if the Jaguars give Vince the opportunity to beat them then he could do it.

Even without Marcus Stroud and Mike Peterson, Jacksonville still has a decent defense. Anything is possible, but I just can't see Vince Young beating a team as good as Jacksonville, his first year, on the road.

Hope you're right, Zero Cool.

I'd rather have Vince Young beat me through the air than having Travis Henry run for 150+ yards.

In my opinion, I think Houston can't win today. The Giants have too good of a defense for Houston to score that much. And Tiki is going to tear apart their defense. Also, if the Giants lose and the Cowboys win, they are tied for first place, so I don't think the Giants will have a let down.

Houston alomst beat them. How did everyone do today. I lost most all of my bets and now i done for the day. I was 5-6 in some of the pools. Jax help me out today. If SD wins we going to go into double picks for the survivor picks. I hope SD loses so it stay at 1 pick not 2 picks .

Good Luck tonight all

The Texans game was closer that I thought, but bad teams lose close games, and good teams win bad games, that's how it has always been. I'm surprised the 49ers only gave up 3 points. Vince Young struggled big time in Jacksonville also. I can't believe Miami beat Chicago at home, and some guy predicted Chicago to lose big time to the Giants next week. I'm not so sure about that now.

I wanted the Texans to win, but even when they were up 10-7, I didn't have much faith in them. I just wanted a lot of people in my survivor pool to lose. I think there are about 700 left from the 13,500 that started out.

The 49ers play really well at home, but I thought they'd win in a higher-scoring game. I'll still take the W though.

Vince Young took a step back, but he's only a rookie. He'll go through growing pains.

I thought the Dolphins would keep it close with the Bears, but I would never have guessed an outright upset.
