What do you guys think of this? I personally think it is a wrong move. I don't like Simms. I think the only reason he is playing is because his father is well known and people want to give him a chance.
I agree with your assesment of Simms. He is only known because of his father, but he is decent. They are probably better off drafting a qb, and I don't like the idea of signing him for 2 years. I would have given him a one year deal, and an option for the second.
I feel bad for Jeff, his career is starting up again, but he is 36 years old. I don't think it would be wise to sign him. He will be there for 1 or 2 years and thats that. The Bucs are not good, I think they should just draft another QB early and build the team around him.
Also, Walter, what do you think the Eagles will do with Garcia if they, for some reason, win the Super Bowl. I mean they are probably the hottest team going into the playoffs. I still think you ditch Garcia, because of the age factor.
If the Eagles win the Super Bowl with Jeff Garcia, they should keep riding him until his age is a factor in his play. But Andy Reid won't do that -- Reid's one of the most stubborn coaches in the NFL and has vehemently declared that McNabb is the starter no matter what.
