The College Football season starts tonight (I know USC vs V-Tech but there are lots of games on tonight). Is there any interest in college football here, or just the NFL. Personally, I love the NFL a lot more but college football can be pretty cool.

I really like how involved the fans are, and how much spirit there is. But I cant get into it. There is never a real "Champion". I cant get into a game that doesnt have a Playoffs. That is the most interesting part of the entire season. And seeing those fans during the playoffs, Whew! Anyone would watch that. I like College Basketball much more than College Football, and I almost like College Basketball as much as the NBA. TEXAS TECH IS GOIN ALL THE WAY, BABY! But if Im not doing anything I'll watch NCAA Football. I like Notre Dame.

If College Football had a December Madness, it would be huge. They should have 16 teams, 4 weeks. It would be great. I love college basketball and the NCAA Tournament got me into it. I think a lot more people would like NCAA Football if those stubborn idiots would implement a playoff.

It's all about money. How can you have teams like Northwestern and Kansas in Bowl Games and expect people to watch them? That's disgraceful. Just have 16 teams, 11 Automatic Bids (Conference Winners) and 5 at-large bids. That would be incredible.

Yeah. Oklahoma still would have made it and had a chance to rebound. It would only be 4 weeks! Boy how did you come up with that. That would be a brilliant system and I may have liked it better than the NFL if they did that.

OMG PENN STATE R0X0RZ LOL!!!11!1!!!

ok, now that that's out of the way, we looked pretty solid yesterday... granted it was against perenial creampuff akron. but still, we WERE the creampuffs last year, so its good to see a dominating performance, even against a crapper team. i'm feeling a bowl game this year and maybe, just *maybe* a top 25 ranking, although that's an absolute best-case scenario. of course i am getting a bit (read: very much) ahead of myself and am probably overly optimistic. after enduring last year, i just want to leave my senior year on a good note.

and yes, i wholeheartedly agree that college football needs a playoff system. unfortunately, that will never, ever happen. i'm sure that advertisers are paying assloads of money to get their names on bowl games, so the ncaa has too much to loose. unfortunately it looks like we're stuck with the Tampax Ultra Heavy Flow Bowl for a while.

We finally aggree, fricko. I do believe that Penn State will be in the top 25. Cause of Joe Paterno. Yall are lucky to have Instant Replay in your conference thanks to him. I say the 'Horns are going to be a Top 5 team this year and challenge Oklahoma for the Big Twelve title.

Yeah, I don't see a playoff system this decade. But, what these BCS-infatuated idiots don't see is that they can have both. Why not have a playoff system and Bowl Games (for lesser teams) at the same time? It would work.

Penn State has a chance to win 7 or 8 games this year. I can't see them winning at Ohio State, nor Minneosta. A home game against Purdue and a trip to Wisconsin are also challenges. Top 25? Possibly.

If there was a year that Texas could finally defeat Oklahoma, this is the year. I think the Longhorns have a better team than the Sooners. If they can dispel the Wicked Witch of the North, they'll most likely be in the National Championship game.

I aggree on your BCS, and Texas points completely. But I say Penn State goes into Minnesota and wins this year.

I like Minnesota a lot this year. They have the best rushing attack in the Big Ten, and I'm not sure that Penn State can stop the run. I think the Gophers could actually win the Big Ten, but the title will probably go to Michigan.

Michigan will definetly win the Big Ten. I think Minnesota will have a disappointing season this year.

I disagree. Their schedule is pretty easy and the only game I think they will lose is at Ohio State. If they can somehow pull off the upset, they'll win the Big Ten.

A sleeper Big Ten team I like is Illinois. They were awful in 2003, but no one knows that their entire team was injured. When they were healthy, they actually looked half-way decent. If they stay healthy for the most part, I think they'll win 6 games.

I like Illinois, too. Not everyone doesnt know them, if I remember correctly SI picked them to get 2nd in the Big Ten. I aggree. I think they will take Minnesota's place as runner up to Michigan.

Wow, I don't know if Illinois will finish 2nd. I was thinking more along the lines of 4th through 7th. But in a conference like the Big Ten, anything can happen.

Wisconsin RB Anthony Davis is out for 3+ weeks. They'll go from a top team in the Big Ten to one of the weaker ones, until Davis can come back at 100%.

I wouldn't call it a tragedy, but Florida State blew a lead in the 4th quarter to lose in overtime to Miami 16-10. It was their sixth straight loss to the Hurricanes.

No, Walt! The Canes are my second favorite team I saw the game but they said he was coaching that game after he had a tragedy.
