Much like Cleveland, San Diego beat the Texans in Houston. A game that cost me alot of money. Ill give Walt his props for warning me, but I never saw it coming. This was a huge loss for Houston. Who will now most likely remain cellar-dwellers.
They will be blown out at one point or another. You cant lose to San Diego at home and stay in contention with teams like Indy or Minnesota. They could score 80 points against Houston.
If they keep losing close games, eventually they will collapse, but not any time soon. And, I don't think Minnesota could score 80 on them. The Texans are not an NCAA team. Remember, this is a league of parity, which means one team isn't that much better than the other.
Parity means that every team in the NFL is equal or close to equal. 15 years ago, Arizona couldn't have traveled to St. Louis and won. Houston couldn't go to Miami last year and win. The Cards could have beaten the Rams and the Texans did upset the Dolphins. Free agency has created parity.
St. Louis is the best home team in the league and Arizona though they are vastly improved are still cellar dwellers if San Francisco wasnt in their division they would be dead last by a long shot. Even if St. Louis was sloppy because they didnt try hard I still say them at their worst is better than Arizona at normal.
I just cant convince you, Arizona isnt that good this year, and St. Louis though they are on the decline, are better than Arizona by a bunch. What 'bad call' do you keep talking about explain it to me.
That being said, they should have beaten the Rams. Up 10-9, the Rams were inside the 10. Marc Bulger threw an interception and it was returned for a Cardinals touchdown. 17-9. Almost. The refs called a phantom holding call on one of the Cardinals linebackers. A very questionable call, in my opinion. They should have let it go. The Cards would have been up by 8 late in the game.
I didnt see the play so I cant talk about it one way or the other but what was the Final score, I think St. Louis scored 17 or 16 so it still probably would have gone into Overtime. Arizona is not that good this year, even if St. Louis wasnt concentrating.
It doesn't matter if Arizona is good or not. In today's NFL, any team can win on any given Sunday. To quote Chris Berman: "That's why they play the games."
Arizona almost took down Atlanta yesterday. They lost 6-3 after fumbling three times in the red zone. The Falcons beat the Rams 34-17 so I guess there is NO WAY the Cardinals could win at St. Louis, right?
You have convinced me. The Cardinals could have won, but they are not good enough to beat the Rams in St. Louis. Do you see what I mean. If St. Louis didnt get focused in the end Arizona could have won. But what I am saying is that the Rams are much better than Arizona, so they if they won it meant nothing about who is better. It meant Dennis Green is a better coach than Mike Martz. Which he is. But an Arizona win would have just proved it even more.
I think if St. Louis was focused for that Arizona game, it could have been a blowout. But that was a game I circled as soon as the schedule came out. I had the Cardinals beating the Rams... but that was when Anquan Boldin, Dexter Jackson, Marcel Shipp and Wendell Bryant were all in the lineup.
