Pick of the week?

For the survivor pool people in here. What game are you going with this week? No spread, heads up football.

I would go with Green Bay over Chicago. Brett Favre is 18-2 against the Bears and even though the Packers are coming off of a short rest week, they are 5-0 straight up after playing on Monday Night football since 2001.

I have to aggree with Walt on this one. There is no way the Bears will go into Lambeau and win this weekend.

I have this huge binder full of stats that I keep track of. Little by little, I'm starting to transfer it on to my computer. Most of my stats come from there.

A few come from the 2004 NFL Record & Fact Book, which is basically the football Bible.

I keep all my picks in a big football book. But most of my really reliable stats come from my 2003 NFL Bluebook.

My survivor-pool pick last week was St. Louis to beat Arizona, just so everyone knows I wouldnt have been knocked out already. I know that wasnt Walt's pick. I think that Walt's pick was either Baltimore to beat Cleveland, which would have knocked him out. Or New England to beat Indianapolis. What was your, tphinn?

St. Louis, but everyone in my league had them, so they all survived

For me, 1 picked Houston, 1 picked Baltimore, 1 picked Atlanta, 1 picked Philadelphia, and I picked St. Louis. So three of us have survived. This week between the 3 of us, 1 picked New England, 1 picked Dallas, and I picked Green Bay. So all of us will probably live another week.

Hey, Walt. Why dont you try to get Fricko to come online and pick his. From what it sounds like you two know each other. Anyone else who reads and doesnt post, feel free to put your survivor picks on here, too. If you are anonymous, put a username at the bottom of the page or something.

I'm in a survivor pool and I picked the Eagles last week. That's a good idea, we'll start it for week 3. I'll try to get fricko in here.

Well, pretty much no need now since Chicago upset Green Bay, I think that eliminates everyone..... but lets start it in week 3 like you said.

This is exactly what I was talking about with parity. On any given Sunday, one team can beat another. That wasn't the case 20 years ago.

Oh yes it is. When Roger was still our QB we were upset in the playoffs by the Rams almost every year. And no excuse we were way better than the Rams but they just tried harder.

That's not what I'm talking about.

That was the playoffs, meaning the Rams were a pretty solid team. Maybe not as good as yours but good enough to pull the upset. I'm talking about the fact that on any given Sunday, the worst team in the league can take down the best.

Listen San Diego can go into Houston (who by the way was not great last year) and win, but there is no way they could go into Foxboro and win.

The definitely can do so. Say, if the Patriots are coming off of a tough game against Buffalo, and have the Jets or Dolphins the following week, they might take the Chargers lightly. It happens all the time.

I will send you 100,000 in cash if San Diego beats New England if they play each other this year.

The Patriots don't play the Chargers this year but they do play them at home in 2005.

Well, by then New England could be as bad as the Bucs are now. OK name another bad team New England plays, and Ill tell you if I would take those odds.

The worst team the Patriots play at home are the Bengals.

By the way, how about those Cardinals at Atlanta? Lost 6-3 and fumbled thrice in the red zone.

Look up Powerrankings, Arizona is keeping it close but it doesnt matter if you lose. But Denny has done a great job, keeping it close.
