No man, you don't like putting people down at all. No sir. Not you. Never.

Back to the utterly retarded notion that McNabb faked an injury... that's just absurd. I seem to recall him playing half a game (it might've even been 3 quarters) against the Cardinals in the BEGINNING OF THE SEASON on a BROKEN ANKLE. Oh yes, that Mcnabb is a big sissy.

Anyhow, to turn this thread to the direction it should be going, Eagles vs. Steelers. I heard (not sure if its true) that Duce Staley is injured and might not play. This would represent a huge break for the Eagles whose run D has been, shall we say... less than stellar. I think it should be a good game. Roethlisberger is a great QB, but he's still young and could be confused by the Eagles' rediculous blitz packages. If he stays cool and the Eagles don't get to him, however, Pittsburgh's excellent (and yes, superior) WRs will have a good day. With Staley injured (once again, assuming that's true), I think it definately tightens things up a bit (Bettis barely has enough stamina to get up and walk to the oxygen tank). That said, I still think the Steelers take it unless the Eagles play much, much better football than they have been in recent weeks.

I'm not a role model. I give my commentary. This would be a pretty boring thread if we were like Troy Aikman on our commentary. "Hes the best at that position." "Hes the best at that position" "Hes the best ever at that position". Thats why I dont like Troy's commentary he never critisizes. Im not on a team. TO takes attention away from his team when he does crap like that. Dont give me this holier than thou **** Im not falling for it.

The game McNabb played with the ankle problem (which I salute him for) wasnt the NFC Championship, it was an easy W against a terrible team. Most players will make a point to do that in a BIG game. McNabb is opposite. He did in fact try to get out of the game, so he wouldnt be known as the Danny Wight of our generation, losing 3 straight NFC Championship games, and 2 of them at home.

That was an ass-kicking indeed. The Steelers are by far the best team in the NFL right now. As a long-time Eagles fan, I say to you good game.... bastard

j/k

I still think New England is the top team in the NFL. They proved that they are resilient, winning at St. Louis with Troy Brown playing cornerback.

Fricko's unusally right on right now. Pittsburgh is obviously the best in the league. Everyone was talking about a Philadelphia/New England Super Bowl. Well Pittsburgh just kicked both of those team's asses. If they stay there is a different story. As one of the other topics sais I believe that Indianapolis could beat them in the playoffs.

Well, New England might wind up being the best team, but I definately think that right now, Pittsburgh is playing the best football. Taking down 2 undefeateds back-to-back? That's gotta count for something.

With a rookie, who is tied for the record of the longest winning streak by a rookie. Right now, he has to be the MVP of the league, and the rookie of the year. No contest.

I agree, but I still think the Patriots would have won if Ty Law didn't leave with an injury. Remember, he left the game when New England was up 3-0. That threw off Belichick's entire defensive gameplan. Oh yeah, the Patriots were also missing Corey Dillon

I think Dillon was a bigger loss than Ty Law. Sometimes Law, though a great player, is a distraction.

You can make a case for either player. They were both huge losses and severely played into Pittsburgh's victory over the Patriots. I think if Dillon and Law (not to mention Tyrone Poole) were healthy for that game, New England would have won.

Stats are not always true. I think Pittsburgh's momentum in this game was insermountable for New England, and excuses, excuses, excuses. You have to find a way to win when that happens in the NFL. It happens if a team goes 0-16 with a bunch of super stars and they all got injured you cant put them as #1 on your power rankings, because they had the most talent. They didnt play like it. You have to overcome these socalled "insermountable" losses. Much like Pittsburgh did without Duce Staley against Philadelphia and manhandled the Eagles.

Well, overcoming the loss of Duce Staley against the Eagles' run D behind the Steelers' offensive line isn't that tough. Ben Roethlisberger could've pushed a man in a wheelchair through the line for 5 yds/carry.

Would have should have could have....

The Steelers won a big game. Hell we did not have Casey Hampton(out for the season) or Kendrell Bell at full strength.

I agree. The Steelers are obviously going all the way, now. I hate the Steelers but I would rather yall win than the Eagles.

I don't think it's OBVIOUS that the Steelers are going all the way. I still think the Patriots win in a rematch, but we shall see.

Now. NOW! I said if the playoffs were right now they would win.

I still don't think so. I think a healthy Corey Dillon means a lot to the Patriots, and I also think that Belichick was unprepared for Ty Law's injury mid-game. All of his schemes were thrown off because his cover corner got hurt.

They won without a good back last year, why cant they this year. On Law, why didnt Bill Belichick just shuffle his players around like he usually does?

He does now because he is prepared for it. Troy Brown made his first appearance at CB in the Saint Louis game. Belichick just wasn't prepared for Law's injury. It threw off his whole game plan.

I still think you are totally insane on Pittsburgh. How can you say the Pats are better, even if you make all of these weak excuses for them, for right now Pittsburgh IS the best team in the league, and you cant argue with that fact.

No. If the Patriots played the Steelers this Sunday on a neutral field, there is no doubt in my mind that New England would win by at least a touchdown.

Maybe Walt, but that is not happening this week, and Pittsburgh beat New England this season. No matter what, I dont know why you are defending them they are just simply not the best at the moment, the Steelers are.

Why not look at a common opponent? The Steelers lost to the Ravens earlier this season, 30-13, while the Patriots obliterated them, 24-3. I'm not sure that Pittsburgh can beat Baltimore. We'll have to wait and see.

Well, even more proving than that, Walt. The Steelers beat the Patriots 34-20!!!!!!!! This is ludacris Im not dissing the Patriots Im just saying with how they played against Pittsburgh. They are not the best in the league. Period.

Yes, the Steelers beat them, but the Patriots did not have their second best player on offense, their top player on defense and one of the better second cornerbacks in the NFL. I think if Ty Law did not leave the game early, New England would have won. Remember, the Pats were winning before Law left.

This again proves nothing. The steelers don't have regulars in and are still beating teams.

I love how, Walt never makes reference to the fact that the steelers are a injury riddled team right now still finding ways to win.

Way to go Jason! In that little post you mentioned everything that I forgot to argue to him.

When the Steelers played the Patriots, New England was missing more key starters than Pittsburgh. Corey Dillon and Ty Law are two of the five most important players on the Pats. When Law got hurt (NE was winning 3-0), it threw of Belichick's entire game plan. I don't think that happens in the AFC Championship.

Jason apparently argues this better than I do, so I will let him take this argument over.
