The Bills will not beat the Steelers, and I dont see them beating the Dolphins, or Bengals, but they have a shot at beating the fins and Bengals. If they beat both, then that means that they will have an outside shot at the playoffs. The Ravens I think will at least win one more game. And if they dont Jacksonville and the Jets will. The Bills are just not at the level that it takes to make the playoffs in the AFC. Now if they were in the NFC, I would probably pick them to win it.
I think the Bills have a great chance because they can run the football and they have one of the best defenses in the NFL. They already beat the Dolphins, they're going to take down the Browns this Sunday and who knows after that? I think they can finish 9-7, tied or ahead of the Ravens.
Jacksonville has the easiest schedule. Their only tough game is at Lambeau (but the Packers are an NFC team). The other 3 games? Houston, Oakland and Chicago.
Is it in Houston? Remember the Texans are practically unstoppable on their home turf. Oh yeah, what the hell were you smoking when you put us in the Bottom Ten. In case you havent noticed, we embarrassed Chicago and Detroit. Who have the same record as us. How can you say we are worse than them. We are in the Top 16.
I think what has really hurt the Texans this year is the lack of a running game. Domanick Davis played very well last year, but for some reason-bad offensive line play or an injury we don't know about-he is not the same running back.
Well, Davis has rushed for 120+ in 2 of his last 3 games. Maybe it was an injury, although you are right about the offensive line. They need to add some talent up front this coming offseason.
I think the Cowboys could attempt to get a Larry Allen/Flozell Adams/2nd round draft pick trade for David Carr. With Parcells' Quarterback grooming abilities, Carr may be as good as Daunte Culpepper with Parcells.
1. Why would Houston trade their franchise QB away?
2. Houston would take too much of a cap hit
3. Name the last starting QB who got traded.
4. Even if Houston were to trade him, Larry Allen, Flozell Adams and a 2nd rd. pick are not nearly enough. The Texans would have to take both the Cowboys #1s this year, as well as a #1 in 2006 AND 2007.
I dont think he is worth that much, your talking like theyre trading Brett Favre or something.
Last starting QB who was traded was Cleveland trading Tim Couch to Green Bay. Now I know Carr is better than Couch by miles, but I think Houston might bite if we give those two the 2nd rounder and one first rounder. I think it would be a good trade they have a chance at Matt Leinart (I dont believe him) and Jason White.
Although I think Couch was simply released, even if the Browns did trade him, they were not going to start him under any circumstances the following season, so that does not count as a starting QB getting traded.
David Carr is the future of the Texans' franchise. Even if he isn't that great, it would take A LOT for Houston to trade him. If Charley Casserly was offered two 2nds and a first, he would just laugh and hang up the phone. Deals like that for quarterbacks never get done in the NFL. It would take a truck load of number ones to get Carr out of Houston.
He won the Heisman in 2001 and NEVER played a down at the quarterback position in the NFL. He played a few games as a special teamer, but White does not have his athleticism.
White MAY play a few games in his career but he will generally be a third- or fourth-string QB in his very brief career.
LOL. The Raiders in the first round? You can look on any draft Web site-mine, Mel Kipers, nfldraftcountdown.com, etc.-and none of those will have White in the first four rounds. He has no future as an NFL quarterback.
That's very true and a good point. But, if you look at the history of Heisman winners at the QB position, you'll see that they dont have much success in the NFL.
I looked at your draft sites, and I was surprised to see that you were right. But even if he isnt taken in the first round, I believe that he will be one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL before his career is over.
It's very well possible that he could become a great NFL quarterback, but the odds are against him because he does not have the arm strength. Just look at Ken Dorsey and Eric Crouch. I'd love to see White succeed in the NFL but I just don't think it will happen.
Yeah, but there's Joe Montana and Tom Brady arm strength, and then there's Ken Dorsey and Jason White arm strength. The former two can get the ball downfield, which is something the latter two cannot do. When people talk about Pennington lacking arm strength, they aren't talking about his inability to throw downfield, which he can do. It's his inability to throw the 15-yard out, which is one of the hardest throws you can make in football.
