Underdog Royale - Week 17
Permalink

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at Patriots (-13½)

MIAMI DOLPHINS at Ravens (-11)

CLEVELAND BROWNS at Texans (-9½)

PITTSBURGH STEELERS at Bills (-9)

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS at Broncos (-8½)

Not much to like here. I guess I'll go with the Steelers.

Standings:

Me - 3

Joey - 2

Fricko - 1

Anyone is welcome to join in. Just pick one of the five underdogs you think will win outright.

NOTE: You can pick two teams and if they both win, you get 3 (2 right + 1) points, but if EITHER loses, not only do you not get any points, you lose one. You can pick three teams and if they all win you get 5 (3 right + 2), but once again, if ANY ONE of them loses, you get -2. This will be designed for people who are behind and need to catch up. So, it's high risk, high reward. But... you can't put yourself in a situation where you'll end up with negative points (you cant take more than one team if u currently have zero).

What?! Steelers and Colts are underdogs. To win this tournament outright I will go with both. I believe that after I get this right I will have the lead. I will get 3 points and Walt will get 1 so.

Walt 3+1=4
Me 2+3=5.

Interesting, very interesting.

Steelers and Colts are underdogs because they will be resting their starters against teams that need to win to get into the playoffs.

I think that the Steelers dont want to give up the 15-1 record that they have been saying is very important to them. I saw Peyton Manning on Sports Center and he mentioned that one time they finished the season really weak and ended up getting upset in the first round by the Titans, he said that they are motivated to win that game.

The Colts looked determined until they pulled their offensive starters (other than Peyton Manning) at halftime. I think Indianapolis played the right way; I think the Eagles should have played their starters for a half.

By the way, we'll continue the Underdog Royale into the playoffs.

Cool, so Im not totally screwed. I say in the playoffs we make every underdog an available pick since there are so few games.

I also agree with the Colts tactics, read  Playoff Scenarios.
