I was thinking Maryland was going to be in, but they werent but I wouldnt consider them being robbed because they were royal chokers.
I think Notre Dame and Indiana were totally robbed. Dick Vitale said that he thinks Miami, Ohio was robbed and they probably should have been in too, but they didnt have the hard schedule these two had.
Notre Dame beat like 3 or 4 teams that were in the Top 10 and they arent in just because Quinn couldnt be in their final game. Robbery. They were way better than UAB, UCLA, or Northern Iowa.
Indiana was blown out by Minnesota but a good Minnesota team. Indiana tried their hardest up to that game to get in and noone can tell me that UAB, Northern Iowa, or UCLA deserved it more.
I think St. Joe's should have been in too, they were great up until the Atlantic 10 Championship, and I think they should have been in instead of Northern Iowa, UCLA, or UAB as well.
Louisville was in the talk for a #1 seed and suddenly they drop down to a 4? Behind the likes of Oklahoma, Kansas, Arizona, Kentucky, and Gonzaga. And on the same par with Boston College and Florida? Are you kidding me? Louisville deserved a much higher seed?
Syracuse also deserves higher than a #4 seed.
I think Pitt deserved a better seed than 9.
Walt's favorite New Mexico Lobos deserved alot higher than a 12 seed.
Iowa and Niagara were two teams that I also think should have been ranked higher.
Whoa! Texas an 8 seed. I thought they deserved to be in, but I dont think they deserved nearly what they got.
St. Mary's could have been higher than a 10 seed.
Wake Forest got a #1 seed stolen from them because the commitee wanted to play politics and not let 3 teams from the same conference be the #1 seeds.
George Washington should have been higher than 12. I think the Atlantic 10 is very underrated.
Maryland lost thrice to Clemson. See ya, Terps. You can't lose to Clemson three times in a decade, much less a single season.
I don't think Notre Dame and Indiana were robbed. Notre Dame lost to Rutgers when they knew they had to win to get in. They lost to Rutgers. Rutgers. Indiana was blown out by Minnesota in a virtual bubble-elimination game. I thought if the Hoosiers held their own, they would have gotten in, but that game was not even close.
I'd take St. Joe's over Notre Dame and Indiana. They finished with an 8-2 record after a slow start, which should have been expected after they lost Jameer Nelson and Delonte West. The Hawks won the A-10 regular season by three games, and they won at George Washington.
The team I thought was robbed was Buffalo. The MAC is a very good conference that many people--including the selection committee--just don't know about. Ohio won the MAC and got a 13-seed? That's absurd.
I agree about Louisville. They should have been a two-seed. Wake Forest should have been the fourth one-seed. I also agree about Syracuse. They won the Big East.
I thought Pittsburgh should have gotten a seven-seed. But remember, this is a team that lost to Bucknell at home, and St. John's on the road.
I'm really disappointed that New Mexico is only a 12. They play a great team in Villanova and may not win. In another bracket, they would have a chance to get to the Sweet 16.
I agree with your gripes about Iowa, Niagara, and St. Mary's. However, Texas lost convincingly to Colorado in the Big XII Tourney, while George Washington had a few shady losses this season.
N.C. State is better than a 10, but they sure didn't play like it during the season. Same goes for West Virginia and their seven.
You make a good case for Notre Dame, but I would still choose St. Joe's and Buffalo before them. I agree with your take on UCLA. They had no business in the NCAA Tournament, and neither did Stanford.
