I think he's definitely servicable and a pretty good player. But, they could still use a long-term upgrade over him. McCree will be 29 at the start of the 2006 season. By the time Pollard will be ready to start -- in 2007 -- McCree will be 30 and nearly over the hill.
Yes, that may be true, but I think it would make more sense, if there going to draft a saftey to draft the replacement for Mike Minter, who will be 32 in Janurary. But besides that, I think they have a solid S corps right now with Minter and McCree, and Bashir and Davis as the two back-ups. I think the weakest part of the Panthers defense is OLB with Brandon Short being the starter. Just my two cents!
