Well, that game meant a lot more to Texas A&M than it did to Texas. The Longhorns have Oklahoma coming up. A&M needed the win to get into the NCAA Tournament. Texas is just too inconsistent to win it all. If LaMarcus Aldridge gets into foul trouble, which he does quite often, the Longhorns will lose. Plus, I'm not crazy about head coach Rick Barnes.
I wouldn't say "shocked." I said North Carolina would win by 5 points, and I suspect that you had a similar prediction. Duke simply isn't as good as North Carolina this year.
Texas had revenge going against Oklahoma. Plus, the Sooners haven't been playing well lately. I had a strong feeling Texas was going to blow Oklahoma out. Remember, the Longhorns are really inconsistent. I don't think I can trust them.
Villanova will be ranked No. 1 but I still think Connecticut is the best team in the country. Just wait until the NCAA Tournament -- the Huskies will win the whole thing.
Go figure that Syracuse loses to DePaul by 39, then beats Cincinnati, UConn and Georgetown. They've gone from NIT-bound to a potential No. 5 or 6 seed.
By the way, when Georgetown was up by 15 at halftime, I turned off the game and went out to dinner. I figured the Orange Men ran out of gas. I was shocked when I heard one of the ESPN announcers say, "Syracuse has already moved on..." at the start of the Pitt-Villanova game.
