You gotta be kidding Walt!

"It's hard to believe, but the Jets might actually be worse in 2006 than they were last season."

Are you kidding me!? Jets being WORSE than last season? I'm fully convinced you HATE the Jets.: furious:

Mangini is RETOOLING and REBUILDING THE FRANCHISE. In fact, we are starting a new era.

Quit watching tapes of the 1995 and 1996 seasons Walt.

I don't hate the Jets at all. I actually like the team and their fan base. I like it when the Jets are in the playoffs.

However, did you see their cap situation? They are $29 million OVER the cap! Think about all of the cuts they have to make. Eric Mangini will turn the franchise around, but it's going to take a few seasons.

You're probably right. I just had my green glasses on when I typed this thread.

Well, The Raiders are rowing in the same raft as the Jets.

They were also coming off a

bad record last season
bad cap situation
new coaches
etc.

If I were to rank the teams right now, the Raiders would be dead last. In fact, I might make a pre-free agency ranking some time this week.

Jets, UNDER THE SAINTS? Have you really gone off the deep end?

The Saints have much better offensive pieces. They have better receivers, offensive line and running back. The Jets have a superior defense, but neither stop unit is really any good.

The Saints are no way better than us.

The Jets didn't care to try in that game. The Jets were thinking more about running to Canton, to convine Paul Tagliabue to make the 2006 Draft earlier than playing the Saints.

Saints still reek!

I'm sure you would agree that both teams really reek. I just think the Saints have more to build around (Deuce McAllister, Joe Horn, TE Zach Hilton, C LeCharles Bentley, OT Jamaal Brown, G Kendyl Jacox, G Montrae Holland). Meanwhile, the Jets have a 33-year-old running back and only one reliable receiver. They lack a reliable tight end and their offensive line has plenty of holes in it.

Ouch. The Jets are already in bad shape for the 2006 season.

I'm hoping to pete that the 2005 season was a fluke and not a sign of things to come.

If the Jets weren't nearly $30 million over the cap a few days ago, they would have had a chance at the playoffs in 2006. But they need to get out of cap purgatory first. One of my close friends is a Jets fan. He believes that the Jets will trade John Abraham for a mid-first round pick.

Yeah they should. As good is Abe is, he takes up way too much money and we can't afford that. Plus, if we get that mid-1st round pick, we can replace Abraham by drafting Mario Williams!

J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS! Not giving up 2006 yet!

I honestly don't think you'll get Mario Williams with a mid-first round pick. Did you see my new mock draft? I have him going No. 5 to Green Bay. If you're looking for a defensive end for a selection between 13-22, you'll probably have to take Tamba Hali, who is pretty good himself.
