Just another stupid move in the history of Isiah Thomas as an NBA executive. My prediction is that Brown goes to the Bobcats and barely misses the playoffs while the Knicks go 13-69 next season.

I read a column in ESPN the Magazine opining that the Knicks would be in the playoffs by 07-08. It claimed that the Knicks would be done with their dead-weight contracts in the 2007 offseason, and would be able to sign Carmelo Anthony. It's pretty far fetched, and would be amazing if it were true.

A Knicks fan must have wrote it. I do it too, but fans just let their love for a team blind their predictions. I was listening to Randy Cross (Former Niner) on the radio recently and he said that he thinks that the 49ers could go 8-8 next season. Please! I think the 49ers have gotten worse than they were last season, the only reason I predict them to finish with a win more is because I think Mike Nolan is a good coach.

If Randy Cross really said that, I have lost all respect for him. The 49ers have done nothing to indicate that they'll be in the playoff hunt next year.

The 49ers are not going anywhere close to 8-8. Maybe Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick could be the only coaches in the NFL to accomplish that.

I don't even think Parcells or Belichick could go 8-8 with that squad. There's no talent. They have another owner (John York) who isn't dedicated to winning.

I thought the same thing as you, Walt. I dont think Belichick would do very well at all with them, in fact he may not fare any better than Mike Nolan would. Belichick's talents as a coach are different than Parcells'. When I say that I mean Belichick is such a good coach because he can win with a very talented team yet not allow them to get too full of themselves. Parcells is good because he can go to a team and instantaneously make them better. I think that Parcells would go 6-10 or 7-9 with them. I think that Belichick would go 4-12 just like I think Nolan will this year.

Yeah, you're right -- they're two different coaches. It's amazing how Bill Parcells instantly turned the Cowboys around. When Bill Belichick took over the Patriots, it took him two years (and a Tom Brady) to do so.

I looked up Bill Parcells in the wikipedia online encyclopedia the other day and it said "Despite very little talent, Parcells has been rather successful with Dallas, being in the hunt for the playoffs each of his first three seasons" or something like that. I thought that that was a perfect description of his three years here.

I would agree with that, especially considering how bad the Cowboys were before he got there.

I still can't believe that we went to the playoffs in 2003. We were quarterbacked by Quincy Carter and Troy Hambrick was our leading rusher! That was just a miracle.

And now they are unknown.

My point exactly. We had virtually no good players, or even average players, on offense yet we were in the playoffs.
