Tyson Chandler of the Bulls was traded to the Hornets for F/C P.J. Brown and SG J.R. Smith. In my opinion, the Bulls get the better end of the deal. Chandler was a HUGE let down last season replacing Eddy Curry. Infact, his stats as a back-up were better then the stats he had when he started last year. The Bulls get P.J. Brown, who may be old, but is still averaging over 9 points a game, and Smith is averaging over 7 points a game. Bulls really wanted to add some big men this year and they have done just that. Of course, they land Ben Wallace, they acquired Viktor Kyrapa from my favorite Blazers who is 6-9, P.J. Brown is 6-11, they got Tyrus Thomas who is 6-9. I've also read reports saying Al Harrington, free agent for the Hawks, is really interested in signing with the Bulls. I've also read that the Bulls may also go after Kevin Garnett, I really doudt they will land K.G. though. It seems the Bulls are really hungry for that title for next season.
That trade was strictly a cap move. P.J. Brown's contract expires at the end of the next season, so they'll be able to dump his money and pursue someone else. Chicago is one scorer away from an NBA Finals appearance. Actually, they might already be good enough. They played Miami tough in the first round.
