The Mavs have traded G/F Marquis Daniels to the Pacers for PF Austin Croshere. At first look, this is a bad trade for the Mavs. Croshere is old and is averaging about 8.2 ppg. While Daniels has gotten better every year for the past three years, and is off of a career best 10.2 ppg. Yes, I know there are other skills needed in basketball other then scoring. The Mavs have always been known to be a bad defensive team. Daniels was a very good defender, and could do a little bit of everything. His only real weakness is his outside shot. While Croshere is a good rebounder, good shooting touch, very strong and explosive, and has a good first step. However, he is very incosistent. I would rather have Daniels on my team then Croshere.
I agree that I'd rather have Marquis Daniels on my squad than Austin Croshere. That said, Croshere's contract expires at the end of the 06-07 season, so the deal wasn't bad for Dallas.
