I actually liked the Whopperettes. I thought that commercial was great and everybody downed it.
I agree with your assessment on the Sprite commercials, they are terrible.
Another commercial that people made fun of and I liked was the BMW commercial for the little monster. I can only imagine the birds and the bees talk that the little monster recieved- "When a fire-breathing dragon and a huge robot love each other very much...."

I was at the movies with my cousin. That commercial came on before the previews. Right after it ended, he went to the concession stand and bought himself a Sprite. He told me he "had to have one right away." Guess it works on some people...
