I admit that the Patriots would have beaten Indy in the playoffs but that doesn't mean that the win was meaningless. The Patriots aren't unbeatable against Indianapolis any more. The Colts used to not be able to beat New England at all, now they can. That doesn't mean that they always will or even usually will but it means that they wont lose every game to New England anymore.
Unbeatable in the regular season, maybe. But if the goal of any team is to win the Super Bowl, then the loss was meaningless because the Colts will never beat the Patriots in the playoffs.
They meet this season. Who do you think wins the game?
You know I've been tossing and turning over that question for quite some time. When the offseason first started I was picking New England because I thought that Indy would have a losing record this season without Edgerrin James, then after awhile I started thinking and the Colts do still have Peyton Manning and now they have Adam Vinatieri so I changed my mind and picked the Colts but right now Im neutral. I really dont know who will win. If I had to pick one right now I would say that Indy wins, ironically by an Adam Vinatieri field goal.
That would be pretty ironic, and I won't be surprised if that actually happened.
I also like the Colts as long as it's in the regular season. Peyton Manning thinks he can beat the Patriots at all times now. Just as long as it's not in the playoffs.
