THE Jimmy Johnson. "How bout them Cowboys!" "We will win the ballgame." Back to Back. You know. No other coach has ever brought his team from 1-15 to back to back Superbowls. And if Idiot Jerry Jones wouldnt have fired him over a stupid ego trip. He would have been the first coach to ever win so many straight NFL titles. Think about it. He already won back to back over Buffalo. Okay thats 2. He was a 100x better coach than Barry Switzer. Coaching alone would have been enough to let Dallas beat San Francisco. And it would won the Superbowl the nexthave been a rout, when they played San Diego thats 3 in a row. If Switzer year, then you know Jimmy would have thats 4 in a row. Noone can convince me that that team would have lost to Carolina and they could have beat Green Bay too. Because Green Bay never beat them before that. Then the Pats would have been no more than a push over. Thats 5 in a row. Gailey went 10-6 the next year with the same team that went 6-10 with Switzer, I believe both those years we would have won again. I think the streak would go all the way to 1999. But then we would have lost in 2000. Then rebuilt the following year and be on top again by this year. And everytime I say this, people say "well what about Miami?" Miami is totally irrelivant because they were in salary cap hell, when he got there. Bill Parcells couldnt have won there. Because when Dan Marino would be so stubborn, the Dolphins would have sided with Marino over Parcells or Johnson. Jimmy is a winner, and if any team in today's NFL would sign him they would have instantanious success.
I think Jimmy Johnson is a great coach, but I wouldn't call him the greatest of all time. He did have the trio of Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin. I think Parcells could have won with them. I think two of the four coaches in the NFC East right now are better than JJ (obviously, Gibbs and Parcells).
Why did the Cowboys have that trio? Because he drafted them! 2/3 of the Coaching job is an eye for talent. And, Parcells does great with his conservative philosophy, but Jimmy did even better with an aggressive philosophy.
