I am really worried about the Panthers line backers. I think they are very young, and I think we didn't do a good job replacing Will Witherspoon. Walter, what do you think about the Panthers line backers? I think the 3 starters will probably be Dan Morgan, Thomas Davis, and Nail Diggs.
I'm also concerned with Carolina's outside linebackers. Dan Morgan is solid in the middle, but you're right: The current starters are Thomas Davis and Na'il Diggs. Davis will be OK, but Diggs was not a good replacement for Will Witherspoon. The Panthers also lack solid reserves; Keith Adams and Chris Draft just aren't that good.
Well, there aren't any good free-agent linebackers out there. If I were Fox, I would try to trade a draft pick for a linebacker. Here are some candidates you wouldn't have to give up more than a third rounder for:
SEA D.D. Lewis (unlikely because SEA and CAR may meet in the playoffs) SD Shaun Phillips CHI Joe Odom (same scenario as SEA) MIA Sedrick Hodge
I am also worried about the safety position. Mike Minter is solid, but starting opposite of him will probably be Shaun Williams. The panthers also have rookie Nate Salley and Colin Branch.
