Patrick Ramsey will start next week's preseason game. I'm anxious to see how he does with the first unit, but why is it that Tim Hasselbeck has been the best quarterback at camp and during the first preseason game? I hope Joe Gibbs gives him a chance to win the starting job, because Mark Brunell looked downright brutal tonight.

From what I see Tim Hasselbeck could be even better than Matt. It looked last night that the only reason he did so bad was because of Spurrier's system.

I agree with that. No quarterback in Spurrier's idiotic system had a chance. With better pass protection, Hasselbeck could be good enough to lead the Skins into the playoffs. Like I said, I hope Gibbs gives him a chance to play with the first unit. His two scoring drives were very impressive.

Yeah, he was looking like Theismann. They should give him as much chance as they gave Ramsey, who by the way looked like a High School QB.

He did, but in Ramsey's defense, he was playing with the second string. Ramsey will be starting Washington's second preseason game. We'll see what he does.

He'll be blown out, and Brunell or Hasselbeck will come in. I think Hasselbeck looked better than Brunell looked.

Brunell is known for his accuracy more than anything. Since his rookie year, he hasn't had a QB rating of under 80. He takes care of the ball. I think he's good enough to start, but they may as well give Hasselbeck a shot to win the job.

Yeah, I remembered the Tim Hasselbeck who threw INTs, and fumbled in Steve Spurrier's screwy system. But against the Broncos,  I definetly see a different Tim Hasselbeck, and also is he Matt's brother?

Yeah, Matt is Tim's older brother. And, no quarterback had a chance in Spurrier's offense, which doesn't protect the quarterback.

By the way, have you ever seen Tim Hasselbeck's wife? She is amazing.

No, how did you see her, did they show her in the Hall of Fame, is she as hot as Kobe Bryant's wife?

She's Elizabeth Hasselbeck, and she's on The View. I'm sure you can "google" her and find a picture of her.

All 3 Redskin QBs looked awful in their second preseason game. Ramsey started and went 4 of 11, for 62 yards and 1 INT. Brunell came in and went 6 of 15 with 1 INT. Hasselbeck also went 6 of 15 but had 2 INTs.

Sure, Clinton Portis only ran the ball 5 times, but that quarterback situation is a mess. I would still like to see Tim Hasselbeck play with the first string.

I saw highlights. Ramsey deserves to be cut. He fumbled 3 snaps!  3! He recovered all of them but he set them back very far. What a moron. If I was Joe Gibbs Id cut his butt before the end of the game, Im starting to wonder if he was stoned too.

Oh the Survivor chick. Ive thought she was hot for a long time now. Ever since that show. But she used to be Elizabeth Hathaway.

Ramsey has a strong arm, but he can't seem to get it together. I don't think he should be cut; they should work on his mechanics and pocket presence. He kind of reminds me of Rob Johnson, which isn't very good. There's a guy with no pocket awareness.

He reminds me of Tim Couch. And after Brett Favre retires the Packers will know what that means.

Tim Couch looked like Tim Couch last night. His throws were inaccurate and he displayed poor pocket presence. 2 of 11 for 18 yards? He was a former first overall pick. We'll have to see if he improves as he learns the West Coast Offense, but I doubt he'll ever be the starter in Green Bay, barring injury to Brett Favre and Doug Pederson.

I think this is Favre's last year, and I think Couch will start the 1st few games next year, get benched for someone else, and get cut at the end of the year.

Why do you think this is Favre's last year? It could be; no one really knows except for him and his family. I just feel that he is such a competitor that he'll find it too difficult to quit, especially if he has some talent left in him. He said it himself, as long as he can help the Packers, he'll play.

If Tim Couch starts next season, the Packers will be the worst team in the NFC North.

Well! If thats true he'll be playing until he is 70 years old. He is the Packers, he is their heart and soul. But, I think Ahman Green is enough to let the Packers still contend. I think that after this season, Detroit will have a sleeperhold on the NFC North, and I think that Chicago will finish 2nd. I think Lovie Smith is a good coach from what I've seen from him. I think he will turn this franchise back into the Chicago Bears. And if Favre retires like I predict (this is all depending on whether or not Sherman is smart enough to run the ball instead of passing it) Then the Packers should finish 3rd at about 6-10. But the Vikings are headed to the Cellar, after a disappointing season this year, Minnesota will give up I predict in '05 they will be 4-12, and will rebuild.

I agree with your assessment of the Lions and Bears. This years' Detroit squad looks like last year's Seattle Seahawks. I think they'll make the playoffs, lose in the first round, but will become Super Bowl favorites in 2005.

I also think Lovie Smith is a good coach. Lots of people criticized the hire, but I loved it. They have a lot of holes on their roster to do anything this season, however.

I have a tape of the Minnesota vs. Arizona game. I watched it 3 times because I still can't believe what happened. What a meltdown. I don't know how the Vikings can possibly recover from that. They have lots of talent on both the offense and defense, which is why they are one of the favorites to get to the Super Bowl, according to Vegas.

Don't laugh, but I think Doug Pederson is more suited to run Green Bay's offense than Tim Couch. Pederson knows the West Coast offense well, but as long as Ahman Green is in the backfield, the Packers will be able to move the chains. They won't be a Super Bowl contender with Pederson, but the playoffs won't be out of the question.

Walt, that was one of the lamest puns Ive ever heard "You loved it". Why laugh at that, I totally aggree, Tim Couch is a complete embarrassment. But I do not aggree that they would be good enough for the playoffs.

That pun was almost as embarrassing as Tim Couch. I don't think the Packers would make the playoffs with Doug Pederson, I just think they would be in playoff contention... between 7 and 9 wins wouldn't be out of the question.

No, it was MORE embarrassing than Tim Couch, that has to say something. But now that you rephrase the Packer situation I totally aggree. But as I said, Sherman has to be smart enough to run the ball rather than throw it.

Sherman, in my opinion, should have been fired after goofing up the Eagles-Packers game last season. Everyone here will admit it; the Eagles should have lost that game. In my mind, Philly didn't win that game. Mike Sherman lost it.

No, Mike Sherman should have been fired, when he became the only coach in Packers history to lose a home playoff game. But, Walt while he was part to be blamed in that game, Favre's deep ball in Overtime sealed the deal for Philly. But, I aggree GB really won that game, they outplayed Philly.

You're right. How do you lose to a dome team at home when it's snowing, especially when the opposing quarterback has never been in the playoffs before? Sherman is a disgrace.

Brett Favre's INT sealed it in overtime, but there should have never been an overtime. Sherman made countless mistakes during that game (not just the 4th & 26). I was shocked that he wasn't fired.

He wasnt fired because the Packers Organization is a weak organization. They need to make it like every other franchise. One Man owns it, he hires, fires, and spends. That is the way it works if the owner doesnt go too far with it (AKA Jerry Jones, Daniel Snyder). On the Overtime point, I aggree. That call for the 4th and 26 was bad, not to mention PUNTING on 4th and Inches with one minute remaining in Eagles territory, and Ahman Green healthy, Brett Favre healthy, and the Eagles defense has had trouble stopping you all night. I was for the call to go for it on 4th and Goal at 1. But I am aggessive. It sounds like you would be conservative, and would have kicked the Field Goal in that situation. Sherman needs to decide what he is because when your strategy so drasticallly changes in one game, that shows your fans and your team, that you have no confidence in them, and no confidence in yourself. Non Confident coaches never work in the NFL. Look at Dave Wannstedt. If you watch him during a game he is never very confident. That is why he was a failure in Chicago, and he is a failure in Miami. He was a great coordinator for Dallas but he is not confident enough to be a head coach.

When I was watching the game, I thought Sherman should have kicked the field goal. Going up 17-7 would have been huge, especially since they were going to get the ball back in the second half. A 10 point lead would have made a huge difference.

Mike Sherman saw Donovan McNabb engineer a final touchdown drive during the regular season. He should have went for it on that 4th & 1. Even if he didn't make it, he was still in Eagles' territory and McNabb was going to get the ball anyway.

As I said I totally aggree. On the 4th and 1, you made every point that I think. But because of how good Ahman Green is in the redzone, I would have gone for it. But, what Sherman should have done was keep playing Ahman Green. He passed on 1st and 2nd down, then Green almost made it on 3rd down. I would have gone for it. If he kept running Green they would have got a Touchdown.
